What if another operating system isn't the solution to anything at all? What if device-level identity could tie into existing systems to help pull users out of walled gardens, rather than creating new gardens?
who's interested in working on projects like this? Who wants to build on this? What would you want an android atproto runtime to offer in addition to login? Infrastructure for local-first apps would be cool. Being able to sign data cryptographically on a local pds copy woukd be amazing for being able to use atproto apps offline but still collaboratively over a closed network or peer to peer.
I recently posted about wanting to work on web browser infrastructure starting with a browser sync engine. This type of app would ideally be a part of that initiative to create a unified cross browser + cross OS social computing experience. Many starting points and moving pieces to that project.
